I like to try different things and was intrigued by the beef marrow starter with red onion marmalade. It did not look that appetising but was very tasty – like warm beef jelly. Mail course was coley (a sustainable fish) with surf clam and vegetable chowder. Really very good. Others had Old Spot pork and duck breast for mains and they were equally good.
Wine was from Catalonia (Portal Terra Alta) – a blend of 4 grapes which I was a bit dubious about but which was excellent. Great atmosphere on a Friday evening – we were lucky to get a table.
Visited February 2011. About £30 each – recommended. Worth a journey to Bruntsfield.
