The Cowdray Arms is country pub in Aberdeenshire where the food was good but the atmosphere sadly lacking. I had Cullen Skink followed by slow-cooked belly pork, which was very tasty. However, the room was overlit with harsh overhead lighting. We arrived at 8 on a Saturday evening and by 8.30 the place was almost empty. Maybe OK for lunch but we won’t rush back in the evening.
